We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Billing and Collections Manager to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset in-depth knowledge of billing processes and a proven track record of successfully managing teams. The role involves overseeing the billing function and a team of five (5) ensuring accuracy efficiency and compliance with company policies. This role ensures delivery against strategic objectives while developing team capabilities improving processes and fostering collaboration across departments. Familiarity with NetSuite is essential for this position.

Operational Execution & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement strategic billing plans aligned with the companys financial objectives.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of NetSuite to enhance billing processes streamline workflows and integrate billing functions with other financial systems.
• Evaluate current billing processes and identify opportunities for improvement automation and increased accuracy.
• Identify recurring issues resulting in refund requests and escalate to the appropriate teams to resolve the root cause and reduce friction with our merchants
• Design implement and scale an internal collections program including policies workflows and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations company policies and industry standards in all billing and collection practices.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a high-performing billing team providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
• Set clear goals and performance expectations aligned with departmental objectives.
• Provide regular coaching feedback and professional development opportunities to build team capability.
• Oversee workload allocation ensuring balanced capacity productivity and service quality.
• Manage recruitment onboarding and training to build a high-performing team culture.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Support Customer Success IT and Finance (NetSuite admin Revenue and Cash Application teams) to ensure seamless communication and coordination in the billing process.
• Work closely with NetSuite admins and IT to troubleshoot any billing system issues and implement necessary solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to lead motivate and manage teams including coaching mentoring and performance management.
• Strong understanding of accounting and billing principles and practices
• Experience building or significantly improving collections workflows policies or operating models.
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Exceptional critical thinking skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and team-oriented capable of working across cross-functional teams and fostering positive working relationships.
• Salesforce and NetSuite experience required
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years of billing and collections experience
• 1-2 years of management experience

Compensation:

• Our base pay range starts at $80000 -$96000 for this role
• Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
