Job Summary
Education Assistant (Montessori Elementary Grades 13)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant (EA) to support students in our Montessori Elementary (Grades 13) classroom. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support student learning independence and well-being in alignment with Montessori principles.
Position Details
Role: Education Assistant (Elementary Grades 13)
Hours: 1620 hours per week
Wage: Starting at $22 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
Support individual and small groups of students under the direction of the classroom teacher
Assist students with academic social and emotional needs
Implement strategies and accommodations as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Support self-regulation independence and positive behaviour
Maintain a safe respectful and inclusive classroom environment
Communicate professionally with staff and follow school policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Valid EA Certificate
POPARD Certification (required)
Fluency in spoken and written English
Experience working with elementary-aged children
Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Attributes
Experience in a Montessori or child-centred learning environment
Calm patient and flexible approach to student support
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
