May include the following locations:
- Pine Ridge IHS Hospital Pine Ridge SD
- Kyle Health Center Kyle SD
- Wanblee Health Center Wanblee SD
- LaCreek Health Center Martin SD
- Mobile Clinic / Community Outreach
- Pine Ridge Jail (as required)
Duration: 3-month contract with the possibility of extension
Shift Schedule: Shifts vary based on clinic operational needs including:
- Day Shift: 08:00 AM 04:30 PM (8 hours)
- Extended Day Shift: 08:30 AM 07:00 PM (10 hours)
- Evening Shift: 10:30 AM 07:00 PM (8 hours)
- Sunday / Holiday Clinic: 10:00 AM 06:30 PM (8 hours)
Evenings weekends and holidays may be required
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
How Many Shifts Needed per Month: Approximately 160 hours per month (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
License:
- Active unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in any U.S. State or Territory
Certifications:
- American Heart Association BLS Required
Experience Needed: Outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience preferred
Special Skills Needed:
- Medication and immunization administration within LPN scope
- Vital signs patient intake and nursing interventions
- Wound care catheter care specimen collection
- Point-of-care testing and patient education support
- Emergency response support including CPR
- Accurate EHR documentation
- Cultural sensitivity and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting
- Flexibility to float between clinics and support areas
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care within LPN scope of practice
- Administer medications vaccines and treatments as ordered
- Assist with patient assessments and reassessments
- Perform wound care specimen collection and POC testing
- Support outpatient clinics mobile clinics and outreach services
- Document nursing care accurately in EHR systems
- Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
- Assist in emergency situations and follow established protocols
- Ensure proper handling cleaning and monitoring of equipment
