Job Overview/Summary:
The Adult Mental Health Nurse RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered psychiatric nursing care. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and coordination of care to support patient recovery and continuity of treatment across healthcare and community settings.
Responsibilities:
Assess patient condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift or as needed identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
Perform nursing procedures patient monitoring and other clinical functions as ordered by medical providers.
Accurately and thoroughly document all aspects of care and medication administration in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
Respond promptly to patient requests while anticipating needs to provide proactive exceptional patient care.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate evaluate and deliver individualized holistic treatment plans that promote recovery.
Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers and community support systems to ensure continuity of care for specialized patient populations.
Primary Skills:
Psychiatric and mental health nursing.
Patient assessment and clinical monitoring.
Care planning and coordination.
Crisis response and de-escalation.
Clinical documentation and compliance.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Experience working in inpatient or behavioral health settings.
Knowledge of recovery-oriented care models.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
