About this Position:

Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer

Duties:

Design and implement large data communications and telecommunications networks.
Plan monitor and manage installation of communications circuits and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Manage and monitor network equipment including bridges routers modem pools and gateways.
Develop short- and long-term plans to meet communications requirements.
Perform hardware/software analyses and vendor evaluations to assess performance and suitability.
Prepare tradeoff studies and generate network monitoring/performance reports.
Recommend network design changes and enhancements to improve availability and performance.

Education:A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline. If applicable shall be certified as network engineer for the specific network operating system as defined in the State task request. The certification criteria are determined by the network operating system vendor.

General Experience: Nine (9) years of experience in a computer-related field.

Specialized Experience: Seven (7) years of progressive experience in planning designing implementation and analyzing data or telecommunications networks. Must have experience with network analysis/management tools and techniques and be familiar with Personal Computers (PCs) in a client/server environment. Must be familiar with IT technology and long distance and local carrier management.

Personnel Preferred Qualifications:

Engineer Network (Senior) - Palo Alto
A. Ten (10) years of experience in network administration
B. Current certifications in the following:
1. Palo Alto Networks Accredited Systems Engineer
