Employee Relations (ER) Manager
At Aston Martin our people sit at the heart of everything we do shaping how we perform how we lead and how we treat one another. Were looking for an experienced Employee Relations (ER) Manager to own and deliver a fair consistent and trusted ER approach across our UK Aston Martin Facilities.
Reporting to the Head of HRBPs Manufacturing this senior hands-on role is based in Gaydon and works closely with HR colleagues business leaders and our Trade Union partners. The role has a strong on-site presence with a minimum expectation of three days a week on site alongside flexibility around start and finish times to support events meetings and activities across various locations. Travel to other Aston Martin sites will also be required.
Youll take our HR strategy and translate it into a clear practical Employee Relations roadmap setting the frameworks processes and standards that ensure ER activity is consistent legally compliant and fit for a fast-paced environment. Youll act as a trusted advisor to leaders and HRBPs providing expert guidance on complex and sensitive people matters.
A key part of the role is leading complex ER cases to a conclusion acting as the escalation point where risk or sensitivity is higher. Youll manage and coach the ER Advisor ensuring day-to-day activity is delivered to a high standard and in line with agreed practices. Youll also bring insight and discipline to ER by introducing meaningful reporting identifying trends and root causes and using this insight to drive preventative action and culture change.
Youll own ER policy for the TU-negotiated workforce leading reviews and updates in partnership with Legal HR colleagues and the Trade Union. This includes ensuring policies remain legally robust evidence-based and clearly implemented in line with current UK legislation.
Building and sustaining a constructive relationship with the Trade Union is central to the role. Working alongside the Head of HRBPs Manufacturing youll lead proactive engagement and play a key role in pay negotiations partnering with Reward and senior leaders to deliver balanced sustainable outcomes for the business and its people.
Developing capability across HR and the wider business is also a key focus. Youll design and deliver ER training for HR colleagues identify emerging risks or hotspots and equip people managers with the tools and confidence to handle conflict difficult conversations and ER issues effectively.
