Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new 72 bed behavioral health facility opening in 2026.We offer high-quality compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based transformational care for a broad range of mental health concerns in a compassionate comfortable environment.

How youll contribute

An Assessment Specialist who excels in this role:

  • Facilitates response to a request for services including the initial response the assessment the referral process the designation of the appropriate level of care admission into services and appropriate follow-up activity.
  • Conducts initial evaluation initiates the assessment documents patient symptomology functioning and needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients physicians visitors and coworkers promptly and courteously.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.
  • Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
  • RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
  • RN will consistently use empathy dignity and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

What were looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required
  • Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience working with chemical dependency dual diagnosis psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred. Experience in patient assessments family motivations treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities
  • License: Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. Must be at least 21 years of age. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
