Job Summary

The opportunity

This role works toidentifyand prioritize features to meet the needs of the customer ensuring organizational alignment withstakeholdersand managing requirements in the form of user stories and the service backlog.

This roleis responsible formanaging multiple stakeholders and initiatives within the constraints of scope time cost and quality to successfully deliver to specified requirements and achieve customer individual will manage tradeoffs between a variety of stakeholders while balancing the needs of the team and the organization.

Who youll work with

The fundamentalobjectiveof the Senior Technical Implementation Manager is to work closely with clients teammembersand other stakeholders playing a leadership role in ensuring that technology infrastructure initiatives are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

What youll do

The manager will work with all areas within Technology Infrastructure (TI) having key collaborations with Business Technology teams Information Security Audit Finance and will coordinate with impacted business areas on an enterprise-wide basis.

The manager will report on status and make strategic recommendations on infrastructure projects to senior management in the Technology division.

Technology Program Leadership

  • Act as the primary point of accountability for the assigned technology service.
  • Define andmaintainthe service roadmap aligned with business and IT strategy.
  • Scope prioritize and coordinate delivery within the Technology Infrastructure team
  • Manage large scale Technology Infrastructure initiatives in collaboration with business and technology leads delivering the required business outcomes
  • Develop business cases for funded projects (e.g. Charter/scope requirements milestones/schedules governance/roles &responsibilities RequestForProposal etc.) in collaboration with the involved stakeholders and the project team ensuring that the project is set up for success
  • Identifyappropriate resourcesneeded assign individual responsibilities and develop roadmaps and timelines to achieve successful delivery of business value
  • Ensure initiatives are appropriately resourced and manage workload of team members to deliver quality results and meet timelines
  • Ensure effective communication mechanisms are in place manage all communication to key stakeholders providingaccurateandtimelyinformation exchange between the teams stakeholders oversight bodies etc.
  • Lead change management efforts for larger Technology Infrastructure projects and support smaller initiatives to ensure teams deliver their expected impact/outcome

Financial and Technical Governance

  • Manage service budgets cost optimization and forecasting.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory security and risk management standards.
  • Collaborating with internal/external audit activities tovalidatetechnical process and security standards are being met.
  • Facilitate implementation of capabilities through accepted change management practices.

Dependency Management and Prioritization

  • Manage the activities of cross-functional teams in the execution of TI initiatives including members from across the organization as well as third parties
  • Identifyand manage interdependencies and linkages between disparate projects
  • Effectively prioritize at many levels with competing customer and stakeholder needs
  • Prioritize work through a well-organized roadmap release strategy and backlog of features & user stories and clearlycommunicatingwhat needs to be done

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Consult with stakeholders toidentifyopportunities for Technology Infrastructure initiatives to support the organizational needs
  • Coordinate with external vendors on delivery and oversight of internal/external scope and timelines
  • Proactively manage risks and systematically resolve or escalate issuesin a timely manner.
  • Takes ownership of the clarity and effectiveness of communication with leaders customers and stakeholders

Team Leadership

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives tooptimizethe effectiveness of the technical team and their planningprioritizationand delivery processes
  • Monitor workload of team members and balance work distribution to maximize impact of the team and manage prioritization of work across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
  • Establish/promote agile delivery methods within the technical team to maximize the effectiveness of the planningexecutionand prioritization of work
  • Continuallymonitorteam performancemetricsand backlogs to manage expectations of future delivery and drive effective prioritization and resource alignment
  • Provide performance feedback to team members as well as guidance on development of performance plansgoalsandobjectives
  • Accountable fordelivery while trying to coach mentor and educate the organization stakeholders on projectmanagementgood practices and disciplines.
  • Collaborative management of a variety of personal and organizational interfaces (e.g.: sponsor/steering committee SMEs technical team members vendors peers consultants etc.) with a focus on building/maintaininga cohesive and productive team.
  • Motivate and direct the work of others without direct authority over the resources.
  • Authority toexecute againstnew approachesand escalate issues throughappropriate channelswhere necessary.

What youll need

  • Technical degree in Computer Science Engineering or Business Management related discipline preferred.
  • Agile project delivery experience preferred
  • Product Owner certification (CSPO) is an asset
  • Scrum Master certification (CSMSAFe etc.) is an asset
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) an asset
  • Process Improvement Methodology certification and or/experience an asset
  • Resourcefulnesscreativityand sound judgment
  • Proactive customer service focus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); motivation and persuasion skills
  • Excellent organizational planning analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outcome/deliverable orientation with a bias for action; disciplined scope time and cost management.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments; considering multiple points of view and managing conflicts
  • Ability to prioritize coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines
  • Experience in Agile delivery patterns and technologies (Scrum JIRAGithub CI/CD patterns etc.)
  • Minimum10 yearsofexperiencein technical project delivery (experience in all knowledge areas; scope time cost quality HR communications risk procurement and integration management)
  • Minimum7-8 yearsofexperienceleading complex process and technology enabled initiatives with a minimum of 5 years in delivering/leading/mangingtechnology projects and initiatives.
  • Proven vendor management experience
  • Experience with andunderstanding ofleading practices in project management and process improvement.
