JOB SUMMARY:
The Truck Technician is responsible mainly for diagnosing failures and recommending appropriate repair procedures primarily for Peterbilt vehicles. The Truck Technician will complete the repair as instructed and provide customers the best possible service by complying with dealership and factory standards. It is required that the vehicle be kept in a neat and clean condition all safety measures are followed and any issues should be reported to management addition to repairs mentorship will be provided to less-skilled technicians.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair is required.
- Four to six years of related experience or training required or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- CDL license recommended.
- Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- MX Engine Cummins Heavy Duty Cummins Mid-Range Allison Transmission or Eaton Transmission certifications preferred.
COMPETENCIES:
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and good problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Works well with a team and managers.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
