Join a highly committed and motivated team supporting the delivery of the critical Fire Access and Fire Trail capital upgrade and management program across West Branch.

About the role

NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service owns and manages around 40000 kilometres of roads and trails across more than 890 reserves and 90% of fire-prone land in NSW. Fire trails are critical for fire suppression and hazard reduction work but also provide essential access for conservation programs heritage appreciation visitor experience and connection of remote communities. The priority focus of the Road and Fire Trail (RFT)Network Program is centred on the Fire Access and Fire Trail (FAFT) process. This is a strategic program that ensures fire trail standards in NSW are implemented maintained and reported.

The role offers variety and the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in our Fire Access Fire Trails capital upgrade program. This will include site inspections collection of field data development of scopes of work environmental assessments such as Reviews of Environmental Factors (REFs) Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessments (ACHAs) procurement and contract management stakeholder management site inductions quality assurance project close out and evaluation.

About You
You are a dynamic and creative professional who can communicate ideas with clarity. Skilled at managing conflicting priorities able to continue building and maintaining strong relationships collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. With a keen eye for detail you are confident in identifying and escalating project risks to ensure issues are addressed early and projects stay on track. Ideally you will have relevant experience gained from a similar role.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience in development and delivery of projects including the development of project plans development of scope of works development and monitoring of project timelines budgets and reporting requirements and procurement and contract administration.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
