Position Title: Assistant Project Manager

Compensation: $60000 - $80000 Annually (Based on experience)

Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key support role in the successful delivery of utility construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers field leadership and internal teams the APM assists with planning coordination scheduling documentation and cost tracking to ensure projects are executed safely efficiently and on schedule.
This position provides hands-on exposure to all phases of project execution including field operations budgeting procurement and client coordination. It is well-suited for individuals with construction or utility experience who are looking to build a long-term career in project management within a stable growing organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination and execution of utility construction projects
- Assist with project planning scheduling and progress tracking to keep work on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate with field crews subcontractors vendors and internal departments to ensure smooth project flow
- Track job costs budgets change orders and material usage
- Assist with material procurement delivery coordination and inventory tracking
- Prepare project documentation reports and status updates for internal and client use
- Participate in site visits to support field operations verify progress and address issues as needed
- Help ensure compliance with company safety standards policies and procedures
- Maintain organized project files records and documentation
- Support closeout activities including documentation review and final reporting
Required Background
- 5 years of prior experience in construction utilities or infrastructure projects in a project coordination assistant project manager or similar support role
- Working knowledge of construction project workflows including scheduling budgeting documentation and job cost tracking
- Ability to coordinate effectively with field crews subcontractors vendors and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook); experience with project management or construction software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Clean criminal background and driving record
- Willingness to learn take direction and grow into increased project responsibility over time
