Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Position Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt 40 Hours per Week (Not to Exceed 9 Months Term Position)
Department: Maintenance Division
Reports To: MOD Coordinator / Residential Restoration Specialist
Position Overview
The Maintenance Assistant supports the restoration and modernization of vacant and designated housing units. This role provides general labor cleaning and basic maintenance assistance to ensure units are restored to safe and livable conditions. This is a full-time term position contingent upon project completion and vacancy reduction goals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with cleaning and preparing units for restoration (sweeping mopping debris removal)
Support technicians with basic repairs to fixtures appliances and surfaces
Handle organize and transport tools materials and equipment
Maintain cleanliness of work vehicles and storage areas
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs replacing hardware and hanging blinds
Transport materials and supplies to job sites
Document completed work and communicate unit status to supervisors
Participate in required training and development
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
Basic understanding of residential maintenance and safety practices
Ability to use hand tools and assist with minor repairs
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various conditions
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Good attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be insurable under agency vehicle policy
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend stoop stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to work in confined or adverse housing conditions
Exposure to construction-related environments and hazards
Priority will be given to currently Paducah County residents.
