Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal and Associate Principal(s) the Student Support/Discipline Clerk will assist/support the building administrators Campus Security building staff and parents with information related to discipline in-house suspension emergency expulsion expulsion and trespass Student Support/Discipline Clerk will perform a variety of clerical duties that require independent judgment and knowledge of District and department procedures as well as tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the building and other duties required for students to receive necessary services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectively with students staff and the general public in person by telephone via E-mail and in writing.
- Operate the computer.
- Assist the attendance office with answering attendance telephone; record excused absences; supply and collect attendance sheets for substitute teachers; assist with input of attendance data into the computer.
- Assist with testing as needed.
- Train and supervise student office aides.
- Assist with health room activities.
- Maintain accurate student discipline in all applicable student data systems.
- Copy letters/forms to be mailed to parents and to be kept in student record files.
- Type all discipline letters (short-term long term emergency expulsions expulsions and no trespass) for administrators and security personnel. Keep files current.
- Provide backup for the in-school suspension room.
- Track minutes of Special Education students for Manifestation meeting.
- Maintain a month-by-month statistical breakdown of student misconduct.
- Compile record maintain file retrieve duplicate track and distribute various reports and data as necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with hallway monitoring of students when needed.
- Assist students who are attending time-out sweep room detention and/or in-house suspension programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Computer/laptop typewriter telephone copy machines FAX and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions as listed above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(Testing may be required).
- Light typing/keyboarding (35-50 wpm)
- Two years of experience in a related field or equivalent training.
- Demonstrated ability to operate the computer.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and possess a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and supervise students.
- Demonstrated ability to operate the office equipment listed in the tools and equipment listed.
- Demonstrate ability to perform tasks accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.
