Since our launch in May 2025 weve been bridging the gap between high-end technology and the everyday business world. We dont just implement tools; we analyze how a business works and build the custom AI solutions they actually need. As our AI Engineer Intern youll be at the heart of our tech building production-ready AI solutions developing intelligent agents and helping us define our Tech Playbook. Whether its mastering n8n fine-tuning LLMs or optimizing cloud databases with Supabase youll have the freedom to experiment and the responsibility to build technology that moves the needle for real clients. Tasks

What youll actually be doing

As an AI Engineer Intern youre not here to watch youre here to build. Your work will directly impact our client projects. Here is what your day-to-day will look like:

• Building Custom AI Solutions: Youll be the architect behind tailored AI workflows (mostly in n8n) solving real business problems with smart automation.
• Agent Development: Youll design and develop both internal and external AI agents that can handle complex multi-step business processes autonomously.
• Writing the AI Playbook: Youll help us build the Surf Agency Tech Playbook: our master blueprint for how we scale and implement AI for our clients.
• R&D & Local LLMs: Youll get your hands dirty with research and development experimenting with running LLMs locally and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and databases (like Supabase).
• Bridging Tech & Business: Youll collaborate with the team to translate a clients messy manual process into a clean automated technical reality.

Requirements

You are an HBO or WO student with a strong foundation in technology and a genuine interest in the AI landscape. You are someone who takes initiative and thrives in the fast-paced environment of a growing startup.

Technical Experience (You fit at least 2 of these profiles):

• Programming: You have a working knowledge of Python or JavaScript.
• Automations: You have experience building workflows with platforms like n8n Zapier or Make.
• Databases: You understand PostgreSQL or have worked with Supabase.
• AI/ML Frameworks: You have a basic understanding of LangChain RAG solutions and integrating complex LLMs.
