Compensation: In accordance with California law the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
About the Program:
- Residential Treatment Program (STRTP): This short-term residential therapeutic program provides services to pregnant parenting and at-risk young women (and their children) ages 13-18 in the foster care and/or juvenile justice system. These youth are typically placed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or Probation Department.
Role Summary:Responsible for providing individualized care to youth and their children in STRTP to ensure comprehensive client and childcare. Ensure compliance of regulatory guidelines and abide by documentation standards. Participate in an interdisciplinary team to provide a healthy therapeutic and safe environment for youth and their children.
- Schedules Available:
- Sunday through Wednesday 12:30pm to 10:00pm with an additional day off every other week (9/80 work schedule)
- Wednesday through Saturday 7:00am to 4:30pm with an additional day off every other week(9/80 work schedule)
- Location:155 N. Occidental Blvd Los Angeles CA 90026
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to designated caseload of STRTP youth which includes group therapeutic rehabilitation for residents in STRTP to develop daily living skills
- Craft and implement weekly life skills curriculum for all residents based on individual needs including pregnancy and motherhood skills
- Plans and facilitates daily activities incorporating physical and leisure aspects in accordance with contractual needs while involving residents in the planning of activities through resident council and other forms of involvement
- Coordinate linkage to appropriate intra-agency and community resources. Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings. Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure quality client care.
- Provide modeling scaffolding psychoeducation around childrearing care and supervision for parenting youth. Model problem solving for program participants and setting limits for behavior as well as providing assistance to each resident in working with a group and in handling individual problems.
- Interface with Department of Children and Family Services Department of Mental Health court systems schools law enforcement health care providers and other community liaisons.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required plus 4 years of relevant work experience or a Masters Degree in Social Work Psychology or Counseling with 2 years of relevant work experience or an Associates degree with 6 years of relevant work experience required.
- Experience in In-Home Services or work with children adolescents and their families preferred.
- Requires possession of reliable automobile and a valid California Drivers License as well as a driving record acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
