SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Heartland Family Service is seeking a highly organized detail-oriented and adaptable licensed behavioral health professional to support the agencys Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes. This role leverages clinical expertise in mental health and substance use disorder treatment to ensure programs and departments consistently deliver high-quality compliant and person-centered services. The position partners closely with clinical operational and administrative teams to strengthen documentation quality regulatory compliance and performance improvement efforts that directly support positive outcomes for individuals and families served across the continuum of care.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Iowa or Nebraska license required; substance use license preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor compliance with CCBHC criteria federal and state regulations and applicable accreditation standards with attention to mental health and substance use disorder clinical practice requirements.
  • Track analyze and report quality and compliance metrics required for CCBHC reporting dashboards and performance improvement activities including measures related to clinical outcomes evidence-based practices and person-centered care.
  • Supports cross-department coordination related to quality compliance and regulatory reporting.
  • Supports CCBHC readiness activities including clinical record reviews site visit preparation staff coaching and development of corrective action plans in response to findings.
  • Provide technical assistance and clinical guidance to staff regarding documentation requirements including review of mental health and substance use disorder clinical documentation for medical necessity treatment planning risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply clinical expertise to support collaboration with mental health and substance use treatment teams operational leadership and administrative staff to map workflows standardize clinical processes and align systems with regulatory and payer expectations.

  • Serve as a liaison for data integrity and reporting accuracy between clinical practice Electronic Health Record (EHR) configuration and reported outcomes ensuring clinical workflows support accurate capture of diagnoses services and outcomes.
  • Displays critical thinking through observation analysis creativity problem solving reasoning objectivity and decision making.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills such as conflict management emotional intelligence positive attitude and leadership. Displays a courteous and caring attitude to the clientele volunteers visitors and Agency staff.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff volunteers and other Agency staff.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures policies and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities.
  • Creates maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agencys ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
  • Dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
