Families FIRST (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together) is a program that help families involved with the Department of Child Safety (DCS) who are experiencing substance abuse. This specialized treatment program assists parents in moving through the addiction recovery process.

Terros Health is now hiring for a Full-Time Recovery Coach in the Families FIRST Program

Schedule: Full-time

Mon-Fri OR Tues-Sat

Flexible to Work Weekends & Evenings

The Recovery Coach draws upon their personal growth experience to carry the message of hope and recovery to individuals who are referred to substance use treatment services. This position cultivates and secures a connection with the enrolled individual while teaching personal responsibility and serving as a mentor and role model based on their previous experiences. Using evidence-based practices and strategies the Recovery Coach may provide direct services to individuals such as: outreach and engagement personal assistance in the completion of daily living skills linkage to community supports transportation in-home services and group facilitation.

Duties

  • Initial Outreach upon receipt of the referral from the Department of Child Safety (DCS) conducts in-person contact with the client within twenty-four (24) hours (excluding weekends and state holidays) to engage the client and provide information on the program.
  • Initial Outreach informs the client about confidentiality laws and obtains the clients written consent to coordinate care with DCS and other involved agencies and family members through completion of the AFF Release of information. Provides a copy of the signed AFF ROI to DCS and other applicable agencies within five (5) business days.
  • Initial Outreach if in-person attempt is not successful notifies the referring DCS Specialist within three (3) days to discuss alternatives to locating the client.
  • Initial Outreach makes a minimum of two (2) additional outreach attempts within five (5) business days of the receipt of the referral
  • Initial Outreach closes a case for reasons of Unable to Contact Unable to Engage or Refusal only after a minimum of three (3) attempts have been documented in the client record within five (5) days.
  • Completes and uploads required documents into DCS designated record keeping system within prescribed scope of work timeframes.
  • Completes required documentation in client records that conforms to professional practice state licensing regulations and company procedures related to Progress Notes with an expectation to meet Production Metrics.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience:

  • BHPP - High School Diploma GEDand six (6) weeks of Behavioral Health experience (volunteer experiencemay be accepted).
  • Has one (1) year of continuous work experience.
  • BHT - High School/GED and a minimum of 3 years of experience behavioral health (BH) field including working with multi-problem families in the field of substance abuse child welfare.

Required:

  • Has received substance use treatment services (behavioral health or other type of treatment) and has completed the goals of such treatment such that the services have been closed.
  • Has been substance-free for a minimum of six (6) months following treatment .
  • Is a paraprofessional with training and/or certification in a substance use disorder or Recovery Coach Program (Certification training is available upon hire at Terros Health)
  • Must pass background check in accordance with Terros Health and DCS requirements which includes but is not limited to no restraining orders within the last 36 months.
  • Must have or obtain a valid Arizona Driver License be (21 years of age) with a minimum 4 years driving experience. Must meet requirements of Terros driving policy.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card within 7 working days of employment.
  • Customer service skills especially good communication skills are needed. Ability to work independently with flexibility and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills.
