About WORK Inc.s Solidaridad Family Support Center

WORK Inc.s Solidaridad Family Support Center is dedicated to supporting Spanish-speaking families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in the Greater Boston Area. We strive to empower families by connecting them to resources services and community opportunities that foster inclusion and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide families as they navigate services benefits and community resources
  • Build strong relationships with local community partners and organizations
  • Plan and facilitate family workshops training social events and recreational activities
  • Provide translation and interpretation to ensure clear accessible communication
  • Lead support groups advocacy activities and leadership initiatives
  • Coordinate the Family Advisory Council
  • Collaborate with our AVP of Family Support Services and Communications team to shape outreach promotional materials and social media
  • Use a person-centered approach and LifeCourse tools to support planning and goal setting

Skills Needed

  • A culturally responsive leader who is passionate about supporting and empowering families
  • Experience working with diverse families and communities
  • Knowledge of the Department of Disability Services (DDS) and local school special education systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Approachability creativity patience and adaptability in a dynamic environment


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
  • Full-time schedule availability with flexibility and occasional weekends
  • Bachelors degree in human services or related field with three or more years of experience supporting individuals with ID/DD
  • Ability to work in various community settings
  • Valid Drivers License and ability to travel between community locations
  • CPR/First Aid certification required (training provided)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365
