POSITION TIMING:Immediate hire upon Contract Award and completion of all background and security investigations. Candidates must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent for submission with their resume.

HOURS/DAYS OF SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

8:00am-4:30pm CST

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Process and release medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with federal and VA privacy requirements.
• Review and validate Release of Information (ROI) requests for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Locate and release records using electronic health record systems and ROI tools.
• Meet required turnaround times while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
• Document actions and communicate with VA staff as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least one (1) year of full-time experience as a Release of Information (ROI) Technician or Health Information Technician performing ROI functions in a medical setting.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Act and health information confidentiality standards.
• Experience using electronic health record systems and ROI software.
• Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.

High school diploma or GED
