Role Summary
The Pre-Admission Testing RN conducts comprehensive preoperative assessments to ensure patients are medically optimized and fully prepared for surgery. This role verifies required testing identifies potential risks coordinates with anesthesia and surgical teams and supports patient safety comfort and education throughout the pre-admission process.
Hours
Monday- Friday schedule
30-40 hours/week
No nights weekends holidays or call
What Youll Do
Perform thorough pre-admission nursing assessments including medical history review physical evaluation and verification of required testing
Identify abnormal results and communicate findings to anesthesia and admitting providers
Ensure all pre-op documentation is complete accurate and available prior to surgery
Educate patients and families on the perioperative experience expectations and care instructions
Support patient safety risk-management and quality-improvement initiatives
Collaborate with anesthesia surgeons and perioperative staff to ensure consistent patient information and readiness for surgery
Maintain patient privacy dignity and age-appropriate care
Participate in staff education orientation and ongoing professional development
Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling needs and assist in adjusting workloads as needed
What Youll Bring
Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Associates degree or higher in nursing
Strong assessment skills communication abilities and patient-advocacy focus
Comfort using EMR systems and Microsoft Windowsbased programs
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Frequent standing walking and patient-care activities
Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs; rarely up to 100 lbs)
Regular interaction with patients of varying ages in a fast-paced clinical environment
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens radiation and chemical hazards consistent with the surgical setting
Moderate noise typical of clinical and administrative areas
