Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Partum / Mother Baby care to support maternal and newborn patients in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and a supportive patient experience.
Assignment Details
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 8:30 AM 8:00 PM
Licensure & Certifications
Active New York State RN license (single-state license required; compact licenses not accepted)
Required Certifications:
BLS
ACLS
NRP
Required Clinical Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child Health experience
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Strong knowledge of postpartum and newborn nursing care practices
Ability to respond to maternal and neonatal emergencies
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns in accordance with clinical protocols
Monitor maternal and neonatal vital signs and assess for complications
Administer medications IV therapy and treatments safely and accurately
Perform IV insertions phlebotomy and assist with procedures requiring conscious sedation
Educate patients and families on postpartum care newborn care and discharge planning
Collaborate with obstetricians pediatricians and multidisciplinary care teams
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Ensure compliance with hospital policies patient safety standards and regulatory requirements
