MercyOne operates two hospital-based skilled nursing units and a 40-bed nursing home.

Schedule:

  • .9 FTE
  • 3 (12 hr) evening shifts per week (12p-12:30a)
  • Every 3rd weekend
  • Every 3rd holiday

POSITION PURPOSE

Provides and directs safe effective and culturally competent care for patientspresenting withurgent and emergent medical conditions. Utilizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking to assess triage plan implement and evaluate care in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The Emergency Room (ED) RN manages a diverse patient population across all age groups and conditions including trauma cardiac neurological and behavioral health emergencies. Supervises andcoordinatescare provided by LPNs Patient Care Assistants Emergency Room Techs and other ED team members.Facilitatescommunication with physicians patients families and interdisciplinary team members. Adheres toMercyOnesperformance expectations and upholds the Mission Vision and Values ofMercyOne.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in nursing.

  • Bachelor of Science inNursing(BSN) preferred.

  • Current Iowa RNlicense or possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.
