Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma this role you will deliver high-quality compassionate care in a dynamic setting managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
- Technical Skills: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment critical thinking effective communication cultural competency collaboration adaptability and a positive attitude.
- Credentialing Requirements: Clean background check negative TB test results annual physical COVID-19 vaccination and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vigilant acute post-anesthesia care by continuously monitoring vital signs airway and neurological status as patients recover from sedation or general anesthesia.
- Assess and manage postoperative pain nausea and other potential complications promptly administering medications and interventions per physician orders and protocols.
- Evaluate patient readiness for discharge from the PACU using standardized scoring systems (e.g. Aldrete Score) and ensure stable recovery milestones are met.
- Deliver comprehensive handoff communication to the receiving nursing unit or discharge team providing a clear report on the patients procedure recovery and ongoing care needs.
- Provide clear supportive discharge education to patients and caregivers regarding postoperative instructions medication management and warning signs requiring follow-up.
