Job Summary
Job Title: Polysomnographic Technician (PSG Tech)
Location: Ithaca NY (Onsite)
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Polysomnographic Technician (PSG Tech) to perform overnight sleep studies in a clinical sleep lab setting. This role involves conducting polysomnography for both adult and pediatric patients while ensuring compliance with CMS Medicare Medicaid and AASM standards.
Assignment Details
Schedule: Overnight shifts 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform overnight polysomnography (sleep studies) in accordance with CMS Medicare and Medicaid requirements
Conduct sleep studies for adult and pediatric patients including children ages 4 and older
Set up monitor and troubleshoot sleep study equipment accurately
Document patient data and study results using Epic EMR
Ensure patient safety comfort and adherence to clinical protocols throughout overnight studies
Collect score and document sleep study data in compliance with AASM standards
Maintain compliance with hospital policies regulatory standards and infection control procedures
Experience Requirements
Recent hands-on experience with Epic EMR (required)
Experience conducting pediatric sleep studies (required)
Prior experience in an inpatient or accredited sleep lab environment preferred
Licensure & Credential Requirements
Active New York State license (required)
Must be registered with one of the following:
BRPT
AASM
NBRC
Eligible to perform Medicare- and Medicaid-billed sleep studies under CMS guidelines
Accepted Credentials
RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist)
RST (Registered Sleep Technologist)
CRT or RRT with recognized sleep credentials
