The Position: Detailing Supervisor

The Detailing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by developing and managing production plans organizing workflows and monitoring staff. This includes overseeing daily and weekly scheduling to meet output demands coordinating resources and ensuring alignment with company safety quality and productivity protocols. The supervisor leads a team of full-time and temporary employees in the Production Finishing and builds strong relationships with manufacturing leaders and team members to support workforce performance employee development and continuous improvement. The role requires collaboration with the Production Managers Customer Service and other departments to assess workload resolve issues and maintain high performance standards in a safe and efficient production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain daily weekly and long-term production schedules in coordination with the Production Manager and other departments to meet customer demands and optimize efficiency.
  • Monitor daily production and adjust schedules and as needed based on inventory levels order changes or unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials labor and equipment by coordinating planning efforts across departments.
  • Maintain communication between team members and manufacturing leaders to ensure daily weekly and monthly objectives procedures and policies are well understood.
  • Review capacity planning and make recommendations for staffing adjustments shift structures or overtime needs.
  • Document and respond to production and quality statistics related to output and lot traceability performance issues.
  • Confirm final documentation accuracy of production/engineering work orders and ensure alignment with schedule compliance.
  • Work with management and employees to drive process improvements including planning methodologies and schedule adherence.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and use planning tools or software to track and report on schedule performance.
  • Ensure workers acquire necessary knowledge of methods procedures and standards required for performance of departmental duties as well as holding them accountable to meet efficiency standards.
  • Provide input on future production planning based on forecasts historical trends and capacity analysis.

What we are looking for:

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of related industry manufacturing or planning experience. Demonstrated experience in project management

Craftmanship background preferred. Comfortable on the manufacturing floor working hand-in-hand with teams. Experience in developing employees and a team-based work environment.

Two plus years of experience as a leader in process-oriented environment required

Excellent communication skills required. English or Spanish required English preferred Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Familiar with Six-Sigma SPC and/or Lean methodologies (certification in either is a plus).

Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.

Must be proficient in PC usage and MS Office. Data Analysis software experience a plus Ability to create and adhere to production processes.

Flexible self-starter able to manage multiple ongoing projects without close supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Must have the ability to train personnel on all aspects of the production and. Requires 5 years of general work experience.
