Description

HPM is seeking an entry level Field Engineer based out of our Englewood CO headquarters. This position is intended for new graduates or craft moving into a more office-based role and will provide exposure to the field operations and assisting the project team in ensuring the successful execution of the project. Desired candidates will be a recent graduate with a BS in Construction Management.

We work all throughout the front range and select locations throughout Colorado as well as key projects out of state including our secondary office in Anchorage AK. Pay:$75000 - 80000 annually DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Proactively places a high priority on safety at all times and asserts that priority whenever and wherever needed
  • Assists Project Superintendent with implementation and enforcement of HPM and project specific safety plans
  • Participates in weekly site safety inspections documents identified issues and reports results.

Quality

  • Becomes familiar with HPMs culture and business decorum and how they affect client subcontractor and HPM team relationships
  • Assists with maintaining record documents such as testing and inspections progress photographs etc.
  • Assists Project Superintendent with walk-through inspections
  • Inspects project material deliveries for compliance with contract specifications

Compliance

  • Assists Project Superintendent with implementation and enforcement of HPM and project specific stormwater management plans
  • Participates in other project specific compliance requirements as assigned

Scheduling

  • Attends weekly coordination meetings as required
  • Attends training in HPM scheduling technique and philosophy
  • Assist in developing and monitoring schedules
  • Performs tasks related to the collection of schedule data required to monitor project progress
  • Under direct supervision may draft short term construction schedules for small phases of the work using scheduling softwar

Project Administration

  • Assist is the packaging and preparation of submittals
  • Assists in the preparation of field generated RFIs and posting of contracting documents
  • Assists in maintaining as-built documentation on site

Cost Control

  • Performs tasks related to the collection and analysis of cost data required to monitor project budgets and progress
  • Performs cost coding activities for time sheets and non-contract minor purchases
  • Begins to understand HPMs quantity tracking system

Procurement/Tracking

  • Assists with procurement of non-contract minor field purchasing
  • Orders receives and inspects materials delivered to the project site for incorporation

Field Execution

  • Assists survey crews with establishment of horizontal and vertical controls for the project
  • Assists with site layout activities.
  • Under direct supervision establishes exterior-interior grade and working lines for contractors or crafts from control set by others
  • Assists in the evaluation of dimensional and other field problems referring them to Project Superintendent

Contract Administration

  • Becomes familiar with the contract drawings specifications shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance of work
  • Recognizes and reports to the onsite supervisor and changes in site conditions based on contract documents


Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen due to federal contractor requirements in order to obtain top security clearance.
  • Must be over the age of 18 to apply.
  • A valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record is required as per company standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with solidorganizational skills adept at prioritizing and multitasking in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated self-starter dedicated to excellence and proactive problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic committed to achieving accurate and efficient results.
  • Deep commitment to safety working closely with team members to prevent accidents/injuries.
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel & Outlook) and Bluebeam with a willingness to adapt to new software. Experience with Procore Microsoft Project and scheduling tools are a plus.
  • Collaborative team member capable of autonomously achieving deadlines goals and objectives.
  • Ensure consistent and punctual attendance demonstrating reliability and regularity.
  • Complete tasks within designated deadlines during standard operating hours and be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary.
  • Work safely and efficiently adhering to both oral and written instructions including safety protocols equipment guidelines and company policies.
  • Sit stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently.
