Role Overview
Gain hands-on experience as a digital and social media intern:
- Create and write social media content
- Gather visual assets (photos video clips)
- Caption video clips for accessibility and translation
- Design graphics using Canva
- Post content on social media platforms
- Maintain the Social Media Calendar
- Summarize analytics
- Upload videos to YouTube and website
- Engage with and monitor comments
- Draft and follow SOPs
- Use Microsoft 365 tools
Primary Duties
- Post day-to-day social media content
- Gather visual assets (photos and video)
- Produce and edit video clips with captions
- Ensure accessibility (alt text translated content)
- Maintain social media calendar
- Monitor comments
Additional Duties (as time allows):
- Summarize analytics
- Post to website and upload video content
- Assist with webinars
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate recent graduate or graduate student
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Strong social awareness and understanding of our justice mission
- Commitment to applying MMLAs Racial Justice Values Statement
Preferred Qualifications
- Diverse social economic and cultural experiences
- Second language skills: Spanish Somali Hmong ASL
- Experience in social legal justice or news organizations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Experience with video editing and Canva
- Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
Work Modality
Hybrid position: 2 days in-office with fieldwork for content gathering
Compensation
- $23/hour
- 20 hours/week MondayThursday
- Duration: 89 days
