Description

HPM is seeking aBusiness Development Managerbased out of our Englewood CO headquartered. This position will be responsible for identifying developing and securing new business opportunities in thecommercial construction market. This individual will act as a key liaison between the Senior Vice President and potential clients partners and industry influencers to build strategic relationships that align with our operational strengths and long-term goals.

This role requires a results-driven professional with a deep understanding of the commercial construction industry strong relationship-building skills and the ability to identify projects that are a strong fit for the companys capabilities and growth strategy.

HPM Inc. is a General Contractor located in Englewood Colorado with a focus in three primary working groups; 1) Federal 2) Commercial and 3) Civil. We work all throughout the front range and select locations throughout Colorado as well as key projects out of state including our secondary office in Anchorage AK. We pride ourselves in managing clean organized and professional projects from start to finish with an emphasis on successful client relationships. Much of our work is for repeat clients including local governments private clients and the federal government. We utilize proven project management fundamentals on each of our projects.

Pay:$155000 - 165000 annualized DOE

Key Responsibilities:

Market Development & Strategy

  • Research and analyze market trends project pipelines and competitors to identify high-value opportunities.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to align business development strategies with company goals and core competencies.
  • Develop and maintain a target list of potential clients developers architects and other decision-makers.

Client Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Proactively network with prospective clients industry professionals and decision-makers to generate leads.
  • Attend industry events conferences and client meetings to promote the companys services and capabilities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to secure repeat business and referrals.

Opportunity Identification & Qualification

  • Evaluate potential construction projects for strategic fit profitability and risk.
  • Collaborate with estimating preconstruction and operations teams to assess feasibility and resource alignment.
  • Lead or support pursuit teams in developing proposals presentations and RFQ/RFP responses.

Sales Pipeline Management

  • Maintain CRM or business development tracking system to manage leads contacts and project opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on business development activities pipeline status and conversion metrics.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in business development sales or client management preferably within commercial construction or related industries.
  • Proven track record of securing new business and building strategic client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial construction project lifecycle and stakeholder ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen due to federal contractor requirements in order to obtain top security clearance.
  • Must be over the age of 18 to apply.
  • A valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record is required as per company standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills adept at prioritizing and multitasking in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated self-starter dedicated to excellence and proactive problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic committed to achieving accurate and efficient results.
  • Collaborative team member capable of autonomously achieving deadlines goals and objectives.
  • Ensure consistent and punctual attendance demonstrating reliability and regularity.
  • Complete tasks within designated deadlines during standard operating hours and be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary.
  • Work safely and efficiently adhering to both oral and written instructions including safety protocols equipment guidelines and company policies.
  • Sit stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Established network within commercial real estate architecture engineering and development communities.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce HubSpot or similar.
  • Familiarity with preconstruction and estimating processes is a plus.
