Job Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 3D Modeling:
Creating and updating detailed 3D models of electrical systems using BIM software.
- Layout Assistance:
Facilitate communication between field and BIM Technicians by reviewing field markups and ensuring all the information needed for modeling is being captured.
- Model Coordination:
Integrating design information from various disciplines (structural mechanical electrical etc.) into the 3D model.
- Clash Detection:
Identifying and resolving spatial conflicts or clashes between different building components using clash detection tools.
- Constructability Reviews:
Evaluating the feasibility of construction based on the 3D model and providing feedback to improve the design.
- Construction Documentation:
Generating drawings schedules and visualizations from the 3D model to support construction planning and execution.
- Collaboration:
Working closely with VDC project managers engineers supers and construction PMs to ensure alignment between digital designs and on-site realities.
- Supporting Project Teams:
Providing 3D visualizations clash reports and other information to aid decision-making and project execution.
- Travel:
About 50% of time traveling with the possibility of extended periods of time stationed at a job site.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Navisworks.
- Sound understanding of electrical construction methods and terminology building codes and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret electrical design information.
- Problem-solving skills to address clashes and constructability issues.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage single tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Electrical construction experience.
- Understanding of BIM principles and workflows desired.
- Experience with the use of 3D modeling software.
