Job Duties
This position is responsible for advancing nursing excellence by providing education and skill development to staff at all levels. The role supports new employee orientation and leads continuing education initiatives that promote professional development and ensure safe effective patient care.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Independently collaborate and problem solve with other nursing staff development members as well as other clinical disciplines as needed.
Knowledge of adult learning theories and application of same in both classroom and on unit.
Minimum Qualifications
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Demonstrated experience providing education training or preceptorship to nursing staff or students.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based nursing practice.
Strong communication presentation and organizational skills.
Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g. electronic health records learning management systems Microsoft Office).
Additional Considerations
Prior experience in staff development education or clinical instruction.
Experience coordinating orientation or continuing education programs.
Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission CMS).
