Description of Work

Reporting to the Administrative Officer III. this position is primarily responsible for planning delivering implementing and coordinating the training activities for all employees assigned to Anson Correctional Institution. Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

1. Reviewing all Requests for Training and Applications for Education Assistance reviewing scheduling coordination and conducting mandatory annual in-service training for certified and non-certified staff as required by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standard Commission.

2. Assisting with the scheduling of Correctional Officer Basic Training for all new employees who are required by their job classification to attend this training.

3. Conducting the Annual Recertification Training for assigned Certified General and Specialized instructors.

4. Reviewing scheduling coordinating and conducting New Hire Orientation.

5. Performing other related duties as needed.

(Salary Range: $39671 - $69426)

This is afull-time position(40 hours per week) withState Benefitswith established working hours ofMonday-Friday 8am-5pmand may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.

About Anson Correctional Institution:

Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in medium and close custody housing units. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational vocational and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree AND one year of experience in a criminal justice or training-related field; or High School or General Educational Development (GED) certificate AND five years of experience in a criminal justice or training-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Special Qualifications: May require General Instructor Certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
