Thank you for considering the OCSB as your next employer! We are excited to invite applications for various permanent and temporary full-time positions within our organization. We currently are considering applications for the following positions within our Special Education Department.

Reporting to the Psychology Lead of the Special Education and Student Services department the Psychology staff member provides consultative and direct psychological services to meet the needs of students families and schools at both the elementary and secondary panels. Demonstrating a strong commitment to a tiered model of evidence-based practices the Psychology staff member promotes understanding of both exceptional and non-exceptional students. They act as a resource to school staff supporting program accommodations modifications alternative programming and the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Additionally they assist in determining eligibility for exceptionality designations and specialized class placements. The Psychology staff member works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment including collaborating with community agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Where appropriate autonomously licensed Psychologists provide supervision to unlicensed Psychology staff and Psychology residents in training and work in a manner which meets all ethical professional and legislative requirements of the profession.


Psychologist Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology

  • Certificate of Registration Authorizing Autonomous Practice as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

  • The ideal candidate will have school psychology as a declared area of competency with the College of Psychologists of Ontario or eligible to declare school psychology as a declared area of competency


Salary:

  • Annual full time salary range for this role is $104103 - $130480.


Psychological Associate** / Psycho-Educational Consultant Qualifications:

  • Minimum Masters degree in Psychology

  • Experience administering scoring and interpreting psychological assessments with children and youth. Conducting psychoeducational assessments report writing and sharing of results.

  • **The ideal candidate will have school psychology as a declared area of competency with the College of Psychologists of Ontario or eligible to declare school psychology as a declared area of competency. Documentation of eligibility for registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario would be required.


Salary:

  • Annual full time salary range for this role is $96013 - $112 815.


All positions require:

  • Training or coursework in child and adolescent development

  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents

  • Training or coursework with psychological and psychoeducational testing instruments

  • Experience conducting psychological and diagnostic assessments for children and youth

  • Training or coursework in therapeutic interventions for children and/or adolescents

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • A valid drivers license and a vehicle


The following would be considered an asset:

  • Counselling or clinical psychology as a second declared area of competency with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

  • Experience with screening measures for literacy and math screening tools (DIBELS Acadience etc.)

  • Certification in Violent Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA)

  • Training and Experience in clinical interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) etc.

  • Proficiency in clinical supervision skills

  • Previous school board experience
