Facility Overview
A healthcare organization operating a large teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center is seeking experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) to support Adult Operating Rooms across multiple campuses. The facility handles high-acuity cases and offers a fast-paced collaborative surgical environment.
Position Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist will support surgical teams by preparing operating rooms maintaining sterile fields and assisting surgeons during a wide range of complex surgical procedures. Candidates must be adaptable highly skilled and comfortable working in trauma-level environments.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields for a wide variety of operative procedures.
Scrub in and assist surgeons during procedures anticipating surgical needs.
Ensure accurate counts of sponges sharps and instruments in accordance with facility policies.
Handle surgical instruments equipment and supplies in compliance with infection control standards.
Assist with patient positioning draping and specimen handling per OR protocols.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons anesthesia nursing staff and perioperative teams.
Maintain compliance with all hospital safety quality and documentation standards.
Shift Details
Day Shift: 07:00 AM 03:00 PM
Mid Shift: 01:00 PM 09:00 PM
Rotations may include 8-hour and extended shifts based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience (within the past 4 years).
Prior experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center or equivalent large acute-care hospital.
Strong scrub experience required.
Proven experience across multiple specialties including:
Trauma
Orthopedics
General Surgery
Neurosurgery
Vascular
ENT
Bariatric
Genitourinary (GU)
Gynecology (GYN)
First-time travelers considered only with comparable high-acuity hospital experience.
Excellent communication teamwork and adaptability skills.
