Senior Materials Management & Transportation Manager

Company:

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Materials Management & Transportation Manager (Level M) to lead the BDS Materials Management team in Huntsville AL.

The manager in this role will develop cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program goals while developing and implementing a Production Control environment that promotes accountability trust teamwork quality and safety.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead the establishment and operational launch of a new Production Control organization defining structure processes and KPIs to ensure efficient production planning and execution
• Train Mfg. Leaders and ICs in fundamental elements of PC
• Develops and executes integrated organizational strategies policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies goals objectives

• Acquires resources for organizational activities provides technical and operational management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports through Seek Speak and Listen
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes to drive First Pass Quality
• Manages develops and motivates employees and first-level managers for individual and team development
• Assists with driving Boeings Production System (BPS) transformation (OneBPS) The position requires someone who can coordinate and gain consensus across the organization horizontally and vertically
• Manage the total product flow from supplier to completion identifying issues and future challenges based on trends.
• Effectively problem solve to address production challenges and improve processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 5 years work experience in Production Control Materials Management Supply Chain or Logistics
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams initiatives or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
• 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams
• 5 years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives
• 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing assembly and/or aerospace environment
• Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5 years of experience in using Lean principles
• 3 years of experience with Production Planning and/or One Boeing Production System (One BPS).
• 3 years advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems
• Prior experience with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) on Material Management and Accounting System requirements with general CAS and FAR regulations
• Bachelors degree or higher

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start
