Hours: Temporary/Overnight

Salary: $20.00/hour


Position:

LifeWay Network is seeking a Residential Aide (RA) to staff the overnight shifts of the Safe Housing program in Queens NY. This is a temporary overnight position covering shifts from mid-January to mid-February 2026 with the potential to lead to a per diem or part-time residential aide position at LifeWay Networks Safe Housing program. The residential aide will report directly to LifeWay Networks Senior House Manager.

LifeWay Network (LWN) envisions a world in which human trafficking is eradicated and every survivor is strong connected and free. LWN is at the forefront of providing dedicated housing to survivors of human trafficking. Currently LWN operates the only dedicated transitional housing program in the metro New York area. This program serves both domestic- and foreign-born female-identifying survivors of human trafficking. LifeWay Network has welcomed hundreds of women from over 40 countries and dozens of states into our Safe Housing Program.


The Residential Aideis part of the community in the safe house to provide a safe haven for women survivors of human trafficking. The Residential Aide (RA) primarily provides day-to-day support to residents with competencies and skills to support individuals with complex trauma. The RA collaborates closely with the House Manager Social Worker Care Coordinator and LifeWay leadership in ensuring that there is appropriate oversight in the house and that the needs of the women are met. It is the goal of LifeWay that the team provides structure and oversight in the house maintains effective communication with one another and the residents and fosters a spirit of cooperation among all members of the household and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Embody a supportive welcoming empathetic and respectful environment for the women survivors by interacting daily and accompanying them as they recover from crisis and grow and thrive.

  • Ability to act as a role model for residents modeling leadership work ethic and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team.

  • Respond to crises in the safe housing environment related to the women managing their complex trauma and related to house operations.

  • Be present in the house during all hours of the shift.

  • Operate the security system at the beginning and end of the day.

  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry cleaning and disinfecting

  • Collaborating with management and coworkers to ensure residents receive the best quality of life possible.

  • Reporting any concerns or medical issues.

  • Keeping records of resident activity behavior and moods.

  • Providing companionship to residents and establishing a trusting relationship with them.


Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is a must. A bachelors degree is preferred.

  • Experience in housekeeping responsibilities is required.

  • Availability to work evenings overnights and some holidays

  • Prior experience working with vulnerable individuals specifically survivors.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to follow confidentiality and privacy procedures.

  • Computer skills and comfort with web-based applications and Google Suite

  • Prior experience in shelter/residence management preferred.

  • An understanding of trauma-informed care and utilizing a survivor-centered approach is preferred.

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in relationship management.

  • Heart humor and a commitment to the LifeWay Network mission.

  • A valid NYS drivers license is a plus.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
