Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a nationally recognized reference laboratory specializing in advanced diagnostic and clinical trial services with a strong focus on oncology. The team is comprised of experts dedicated to solving complex medical scientific and logistical challenges that enable precise diagnoses support the development of new therapies and guide patient-specific treatment decisions.

Position Summary:
The Surgical Pathologist will provide safe accurate and efficient pathology services within the Advanced Diagnostics Division with a primary focus on clinical trial case sign-out and validations. This role includes diagnostic interpretation case consultation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of quality turnaround time and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and cytology specimens including gross and microscopic evaluation dictation and electronic case release.
Sign out clinical trial cases and support validations in collaboration with multiple project managers.
Participate in daily laboratory operations including case consultation and client-facing discussions related to pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical questions.
Read and interpret laboratory data to support accurate diagnoses.
Perform quality control and quality assurance activities and participate in departmental QC/QA initiatives.
Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to maintain high standards of turnaround time quality and service.
Provide expertise and guidance to technologists and technicians to resolve diagnostic and technical issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians and ensure excellent client follow-up.
Contribute to decision-making related to the adoption of state-of-the-art technologies and innovative diagnostic testing.
Assist in the development of new testing services based on scientific advances and patient/client needs.
Participate in occasional client-facing travel as needed.
Experience & Required Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree required.
Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.
Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology strongly preferred.
Minimum of two years of attending-level experience in surgical pathology strongly encouraged or board certification in a relevant anatomic pathology subspecialty.
Active or eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license required.
Additional state licensure in CA NY or TX is a plus.
Ability to fulfill CLIA 88 requirements if applicable.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with clients.
