Job Duties:

This full-time University Staff ongoing position(Program Associate)provides administrative assistance to the Department of Social Work i.e. both theChair of the Departmentand the Directorsof the Social Work Field Program.TheProgram Associatemust exercise independence in performingjobduties andhave the ability tofollow through onall assigned Program Associate reportsdirectlyto the Department Chair andcan work flexiblehours Mondaythrough Department of Social Work pridesitselfon being a positive and supportive place to work.

Along with the duties listed in the Standard Job Description-Job Library UW System Human Resources ()- other major duties includethe following:

  • Enterdata andmaintainfiles

  • Manage confidential records

  • Prepare monthly reportsincluding meeting minutes

  • Organize Department events including guest lectures

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings conferences travel and work unit operations
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups provides basic organizational information via phone in person and through other communication mediums and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • Collects analyzes and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • Sends receives copies and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision

Department: The Helen Bader School of Social Welfare iscomprisedof the Department of Social Work and the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology. The Department of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Educationandoffers aBSWin Social Work aMasters in Social Work and a PhD in Social Welfare. TheDepartment forgesstrong collaborations across socialservice child welfareand health care community organizationsin southeast Wisconsin and beyond.

Compensation: Starting pay is expected to be between $24-26per hour negotiable based on relevant experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in an office setting.

  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficient in the use of office technology including MS Office asevidencedby application materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegree or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Excellent organization prioritization multi-taskingand program planning skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability toestablishand maintain positive professional working relationships.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
