The ICS Risk and Control Operations Team is responsible for enabling growth through implementation of an effective framework that drives efficiency accountability and a strong control environment. Through a collaborative partnership with Global Risk & Compliance Product Management Marketing Global Banking and Technologies the Risk and Control team drives a robust first line of defence for ICS and advises our partners on how to effectively balance business growth objectives with appropriate controls. This framework consists of several core components grouped into pillars including governance risk assessment business and environment internal control factors and reporting and monitoring.

Purpose of the Role:

The ICS Business Conduct Teams purpose is to empower sustainable growth by embedding ethics risk insights and resilient controls into every decision so customers colleagues and shareholders trust we do business the right way.

This role will primarily focus on serving as the key point of contact for the implementation and maintenance of ICS Business Conduct programmes in Germany and potentially other EMEA markets. This role will develop to remain relevant as business priorities evolve and change.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a single point of contact for the relevant EMEA markets sales organization working closely with them to facilitate the roll- out of the Business Conduct program new policies procedures training and Monitoring capabilities as the maturity of the Business conduct program grows.
  • Collaborate closely with the Innovation & Design and Integrity Business Conduct teams to ensure that the local market meets the program standards within the boundaries of market regulatory obligations and that all exceptions are documented and approved.
  • Ensuring robust and fully approved operating procedures are documented inclusive of process risk controls and dispute / escalation protocols to ensure a consistent approach and to ensure effective customer remediation protocols are in place.
  • Provide support for EMEA business conduct risk activities including (but not limited to) Audit Findings Operational Risk events Independent compliance testing (ICT) monitoring related activities Quality assurance data collection and analysis.
  • Ongoing Plan management & providing direct line to SLT and Risk and Control LT regarding health of the program and status of the markets.
  • Support to Business conduct manager to ensure full visibility to ICS Risk & Control management team and local leadership in operational risk forums regarding the health of the conduct program locally.
  • Providing advice to the sales organization on Business conduct topics to ensure any business initiative meets market regulatory obligations and requirements.
  • Build a Robust collaboration with business leaders and key stakeholders (business leaders MCO GCO Colleague Labor Relations Employment General Counsel Operations) to increase business conduct risk awareness creating a training plan to the Customer Facing population.
  • Work directly with business and 2nd line teams to analyze and act on output of monitoring / testing seeking opportunities for process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of and experience in Risk Compliance Internal Audit Operational Risk or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience in Business conduct program or RBST monitoring would be a distinct advantage.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills ability to develop credible relationships building trust and credibility with key ICS business partners and stakeholders across Compliance Legal and Colleague relations teams and strategic counterparts in other business units.
  • Excellent Project management capabilities and experience in PMO change management role.
  • Organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills
  • Deep understanding of ICS Products and selling Channels and/or experience working with audit compliance operational risk and/or control functions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing program requirements as it evolves in response to Audit & compliance testing market nuances and central direction from the US Business conduct program owners.
  • Strong presentation skills particularly in the development of story-telling training materials.
  • Must be fluent in English and Italian and/or German.
  • Additional European languages will be a bonus.
