Job Summary

We are partnering with a high-growth venture-backed company that is building and selling a real tangible product supported by a proprietary technology platform. The business operates at significant scale and complexity and this Accounting Manager represents the first dedicated Accounting/Finance hire. This is a rare opportunity to fully own accounting from the ground up while gaining exposure to FP&A as the company scales!

Reporting to and work directly with the CFO this role will be responsible for running the full accounting function end-to-end establishing core processes and creating the financial foundation for a rapidly growing multi-state operation. You will work closely with leadership operate with a high degree of autonomy and help bring structure and clarity to a complex financial environment.

Core Responsibilities

Own the full accounting lifecycle: close reporting reconciliations and financial accuracy
Build accounting processes controls and documentation from scratch
Manage high transaction volumes across multiple revenue streams and cost centers
Account for inventory manufacturing costs contractors/subcontractors and multi-state operations
Partner cross-functionally to understand how the business operates and how money flows
Begin to support and learn FP&A activities such as budgeting forecasting and financial analysis as the function matures

Requirements and Ideal Experiences

Progressive accounting experience in complex high-growth environments
Background in public accounting is a plus but candidates must have public and/or private corporate accounting experience
CPA license or CPA In Progress is highly desirable
Experience within VC- or PE-backed portfolio companies is strongly preferred but not required
Must have worked in a business with real operational complexity such as: Manufacturing and inventory Multiple revenue models and cost structures Multi-state operations Technology platform supporting the business
Highly proactive comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building from the ground up
Ability and desire to own accounting holistically while expanding into finance over time
