Job Summary
The Officer serves as a vital member of the Signature Events teama collaborative mission-driven donor- and sponsor-focused group of professionals committed to delivering best-in-class events through a spirit of teamwork and support. The Signature Events team leads our premier luncheons and galas which collectively raise $8-10M toward our overall $21M events goal. The Officer contributes in part to the successful execution of these high-profile events as well as to our broader portfolio of 100 annual events that unite and celebrate our vibrant donor community and raise $20M annually in support of the Mass General Brigham mission and our academic medical centers Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Womens Hospital.
This role within the Mass General Brigham Academic Medical Centers (AMC) Development Office assists in planning and executing high-profile events proactively overseeing administrative and operational activities and independently troubleshooting and resolving issues with an advanced understanding of strategy and project needs. The Officer supports a dedicated portfolio of Signature Events managing essential operational tasks to ensure smooth event delivery and strong team functionality. Depending on prior experience or experience gained within the Development Office the Officer may also acquire a small portfolio of smaller-scale events to manage with guidance.
Assist in planning and execution of high-profile mid-tier and small-scale events including on-site staffing.
Support a specific event portfolio handling essential operational tasks to ensure smooth event delivery and team functionality.
Provide back-up event support across the team to allow for cross-training and ensure adequate event support across all sub-teams.
Anticipate and independently manage logistics agendas and other materials for meetings events appointments and presentationstroubleshooting issues as needed taking notes and organizing follow-up actions.
Submit employee expenses and vendor invoices.
Assist with daily administrative activities and support logistical coordination for specific tasks including scheduling parking vendor management and/or volunteer coordination.
Maintain RSVP and event records and assist with budget tracking and expense documentation.
This position requires 2-3 years of client-facing or relationship-building experience and a bachelors addition the ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational time management problem solving and project management skills
- Command of Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook or the ability to learn them quickly
- Competency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred)
- Proficiency with data entry or data management in a database (Blackbaud CRM or Raisers Edge preferred)
- Attention to detail creativity and strong work ethic
- Desire and motivation to learn about the organization and fundraising
- Awareness of personal work styles in self and others
- Adaptability and flexibility in times of shifting priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences

- Ability to complete assigned projects and tasks independently or with minimal guidance
