The Team

The Money Market Directories (MMD) team delivers comprehensive research content and analytics on plan sponsors and the service providers they work with. The MMD database is a market-leading platform featuring extensive data on investments and key business decision-makers.

This data is utilized by investment management firms investment banks and private equity firms to:

  • Identify growth opportunities in investment portfolios.
  • Raise capital for new funds.
  • Benchmark industry peers and target areas for revenue generation.

The Impact

As a Data Steward with the MMD Data Stewardship team you will play a key role in ensuring the quality governance and usability of the MMD dataset. You will act as a point of contact for content-related matters across the team and adjacent stakeholders.

Your work will be instrumental in capturing disseminating and improving the quality of MMD data enabling its use for internal analytics and external customer applications.

This role involves collaborating and interfacing directly with a diverse group of data operations product technology legal risk & compliance support groups during various stages of the project life cycle. The role will report into Associate Director within MMD Data group that also demands all round end-to-end involvement right from the foundational aspects of new data collection processes to strengthening existing mature capabilities to scale.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Data Management & Delivery:

  • Lead complex data projects through requirements gathering analysis and execution.
  • Define user stories and technology requirements ensuring alignment with user and client needs.
  • Conduct R&D for strategic data ingestion and curation.
  • Develop expertise in the dataset within the domain possessing in-depth knowledge of data structures content collection tools loaders feeds workflow design data pipelines and client interfaces such as MMD MI CIQ Xpressfeed Market Place and other endpoints

Collaboration:

  • Work with Operations Technology and Product teams to streamline workflows.
  • Support technology teams in user story creation and agile development.
  • Assist Operations in critical client cases and root cause analysis audit prioritization lean projects automation POCs & UAT.

Data Quality & Governance:

  • Evaluate 3rd party vendors for outsourcing opportunities.
  • Identify automation opportunities using Python and machine learning.

Product Owner:

  • Execute product strategy and roadmap for business growth.
  • Collaborate with Client Success to address client inquiries and requests.
  • Gather and understand requirements serving as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Analyse design and implement functional enhancements with product and technology teams.
  • Document detailed requirements functional specifications and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and provide onsite product consultancy.
  • Support agile development processes and prioritize the product backlog.

Visualization & Insights:

  • Transform complex data into actionable insights through effective visualization.
  • Stay informed about market trends to ensure data relevance.

What Were Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Steward to oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex data-driven projects within the Ownership People & Private Markets domain. This role requires a Subject Matter Expert with a deep understanding of data structures content collection tools and client interfaces. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders ensure data quality and governance and drive product strategy to enhance our offerings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with familiarity in relational databases.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel and SQL.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor or masters in business Finance or Commerce

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data strategy management and governance.
  • Proficiency in the Money Markets ecosystem including expertise with MMD CIQ DMS backend infrastructure tables pipelines and loaders.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Advanced SQL skills (must have) with hands-on experience in data mining and analysis.
  • Proficiency in writing Features and User Stories preferably using Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding and application of data visualization tools and techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Innovative thinker Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing environments and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools and software.
  • Previous experience working in a global and cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience in managing SaaS and API products with good understanding of XML JSON and REST.
  • Experience in defining and documenting system interactions high level data flows and component architecture.
