EIPS is recruiting a part-time temporary (0.287 FTE) Instrumental Music and Humanities teacher at Fort Saskatchewan High.

Fort Saskatchewan High serves approximately 465 students in grades 10 to 12 with 26 teaching staff and 13 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan AB approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park AB.

Fort Saskatchewan High School is seeking a dynamic student-centred teacher to join our team. This position will teach Instrumental Music with an additional assignment in either English Language Arts or Social Studies depending on the successful candidates strengths and qualifications. We are looking for someone who values collaboration builds positive relationships and is committed to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
