Job Description

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer Database to design deploy and manage cloud-based database solutions that ensure high performance scalability security and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of OLTP and OLAP database technologies high availability configurations performance tuning and experience supporting modern data platforms and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy configure and manage cloud databases including relational NoSQL and managed database services.
Oversee database provisioning storage configuration replication and connectivity.
Ensure consistent database lifecycle management patching and maintenance.

Monitor and tune database performance query execution indexing caching and resource usage.
Implement optimization strategies for throughput latency and cost efficiency.
Support scaling strategies such as read replicas sharding partitioning and clustering.

Ensure database security through encryption IAM policies network controls and auditing configurations.
Implement compliance controls for data privacy retention and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce best practices.

Monitor and manage automated backups snapshots and restore procedures.
Test database recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
Configure alerts monitoring dashboards and operational logs for proactive issue detection.

Support transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) database systems based on business needs.
Optimize workloads and architecture for both operational and analytical use cases.
Apply best practices for schema design data modeling indexing and warehousing.

Implement HA configurations such as clustering failover groups multi-AZ deployments and geo-replication.
Contribute to development and testing of Disaster Recovery (DR) and BCDR processes.
Ensure RPO/RTO targets are met through resilient architecture and recovery strategies.

Support cloud-based data warehouses and modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake BigQuery Redshift Synapse).
Work with data engineering teams to optimize ETL/ELT workflows pipelines and ingestion strategies.
Participate in architecture reviews for data lakes lakehouses and analytics solutions.
