JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: DISTRICT SPECIAL EDUCATION LIAISON
DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The District Special Education Liaison is responsible for the direction and assistance of the program of Special Education Services which encompasses educational programs for children from preschool age through graduation or age twenty-one (21) within the guidelines of School Board policy and State and Federal laws and regulations. The District Special Education Liaison is directly responsible to the Director of Special Education Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge:
Minimum requirement will be a bachelors degree with appropriate state certification to assist with the special education program. A minimum of five years experience in a special education setting is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist and complete reports required by local policy State and Federal
- Assist with local child counts for State and Federal
- Assist in coordination planning with principals teachers and administrative staff in implementing IDEA and section 504 programs.
- Provide information and assistance in acquiring special services for students with special
- Monitor contract agreements with other
- Monitor related services contracts with outside sources for related services when appropriate.
- Assist in supervision and compliance of Special Education Programming i.e. Ed Plan.
- Be available for parents who are concerned about their childs educational
- Provide in-service as needed to Special Education
- Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Services Director.
