The position of AAG/Assistant Solicitor General may consist of but is not limited to the following duties:

• Serve as lead counsel for the State in all assigned state and federal habeas corpus proceedings;
• Draft and file answers motions to dismiss briefs and other pleadings in state and federal courts;
• Analyze trial records appellate decisions and post-conviction filings to assess claims and develop litigation strategy;
• Ensure compliance with all procedural requirements;
• Represent the State in evidentiary hearings oral arguments and status conferences in state and federal courts;
• Coordinate with trial prosecutors appellate attorneys law enforcement agencies and court personnel as needed;
• Track and manage deadlines and case status for multiple complex matters;
• Provide legal advice and recommendations to division leadership on habeas-related issues and emerging legal trends;
• Any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
