Responsibilities
Qualifications
- High School Diploma High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS-approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate
- Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing School program OR become licensed by equivalency
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 2 years of experience as a licensed nurse
- 1 year of experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital skilled nursing facility intermediate care facility home care hospice care or other long-term care setting
- 1 year of experience planning implementing and evaluating education programs in nursing
- Possess 24 hours of continuing education certificate(s) in planning implementing and evaluating education programs in nursing. The courses must be either approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or be administered by an accredited educational institution and the certificates must be obtained within six months of employment and prior to teaching in a training program
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA)
- LVN - Current State of California Licensed Vocational Nurse License
- DSD - Certified Director of Staff Development required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
