The salary scale for Professional Support 2 is based on steps that range from $68121.92 - $87849.46. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $76947.98 annually.
What youll do
Responsibilities
Were seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Applied Research this role youll support research scientists and project managers in coordinating multiple applied research initiatives. Youll help drive projects from concept to completion ensuring timely delivery budget alignment and impactful outcomes.
Reporting to the Program Manager and working in a team environment you will:
- Support NSCCs six current areas of Applied Research (Geomatics Engineering Energy Ag/Environment Information Technology and Social Innovation) as well as new and emerging areas as required.
- Coordinate a wide range of applied research projects and related activities in partnership with the Applied Research Office.
- Develop internal training on IDEAA concepts particularly related to Accessibility and deliver to Applied Research staff across Nova Scotia.
- Assist the Program Manager in meeting applied research obligations related to external grants and contract funding.
- Work externally with industry and other business partners and work internally with faculty staff and students to meet the milestones and deliverables on research project contracts.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Degree or Diploma in an area relevant to Applied Research (for example Natural Sciences Engineering Social Sciences or Health Sciences).
- Certificate in Project Management would be considered an asset
- A masters degree would be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and email.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination or applied research.
- Strong communication organizational and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant Skills and Knowledge:
- You demonstrate a commitment to inclusion diversity equity accessibility and anti-racism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective communication skills.
- Strong planning organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional client service skills.
- Ability to work as a team member in a deadline-oriented work environment.

- Demonstrated effective management skills.
- Take initiative in planning and leading the implementation of complex R&D projects and/or student engagement initiatives.
- Familiarity with provincial and federal funding programs.
