Role Purpose

The Passenger Assistant agent is Responsible for assisting and transporting airline passengers requiring assistance including wheelchair assistance at the airport.

What you will be doing

  • Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates
  • Roll customer-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridge
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
  • Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude and is attentive to each passengers individual needs; by assisting passengers with any problems questions or concerns
  • Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees supervisors managers airline employees and airport authorities
  • Exceed customer service standards
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram
  • Computer skills are required as you will be using computer-based systems to perform some of your primary job
  • Ability to proficiently read write and speak English excellent communication skills
  • Must have a positive can-do upbeat personality able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time at the ticket counter and gate check-in

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work various shifts
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
  • Ability to obtain an airport badge
  • Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the US
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check and a drug screen
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License

  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Physical Demands
  • Continuously stand and walk for 6-8 hours
  • Must be able to push airline passenger of significant weight
  • Be able to lift up to 70 lbs. push and pull 200 lbs. on an incline
  • Able to work in outside weather conditions
  • Be able to bend stretch twist squat and reach out with the body arms and/or legs
