Job Summary


Position Summary:

Events Assistants support the Student Activities Department in planning promoting and executing campus events. This position plays a vital role in creating engaging and memorable experiences for students while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive campus culture.

This role is ideal for students interested in event planning marketing and student engagement. It is suitable for those with prior experience or a strong interest in gaining hands-on training in event coordination and promotion.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Collaborate with the Student Activities team to promote prepare host and break down campus events

2. Host promotional booths and engage with students to raise awareness and excitement for upcoming events

3. Distribute flyers and other promotional materials across campus

4. Assist in decorating event spaces to reflect themes and align with MIU branding

5. Support event execution by managing audiovisual equipment emceeing and helping with crowd control and basic security

6. Work with the student body to identify and fulfill student event programming needs


Job Qualifications:

Interest or experience in event planning (training provided)

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Reliable punctual and organized

Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment

Reports To: Student Activities Director
Supervisor: Bodhi Boucherle


Bodhihas been the Student Activities Director since April 2025 and has been involved in hundreds of events. Hes passionate about creating comfort in high-pressure & visibility situations such as going to a party alone or running an event and enabling subtler feelings of belonging connectedness and joy to emerge.
