Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring raw materials work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory accuracy and integrity for the Taco Cranston (TCR) warehouse as well as off site warehouse locations. They are responsible for administering cycle count programs for TCR off-site warehouses Taco Canada and Taco Fall River (TFR) stores. The Inventory Control Coordinator may also be required to perform data entry for inbound and outbound materials.

Measures of success:

  • Improve cycle count accuracy dollars and quantity as a % of value and quantity adjustments
  • Increase adherence to inventory control policies and procedures
  • Increase root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and corrective action implementation as a % of adjustment-quantity year over year
  • Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) queue managed and up to date monthly
  • Monthly cycle counts completed in less than 10 days
  • Successful yearly warehouse mini-audits

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzescycle count resultson a daily and weekly basis.
  • Investigates discrepancies found during cycle count perform adjustments to correct inventory in the Raw Material and Finished Goods warehouse as well as local off-site warehouse and collaborates with the planning team for the production floor inventory.
  • Operates fork trucks to perform inventory checks and verifies counts as required
  • Creates an excel spreadsheet of location part number on hand quantity actual on hand quantity variance and reports on root cause / reason for discrepancies in the Raw Material and Finished Goods warehouse.
  • Maintains and communicates daily and weekly cycle count results to managers supervisors planners and buyers. Works collaboratively with them to identify procedural changes required to eliminate the reoccurrence of transactions/actions which create inaccurate inventory records and reports out on those actions.
  • Audits inventory transactions to assure that they are creating proper accounting records
  • Maintains a schedule cycle count of the Warehouse (Cranston/Canada/off-site) and Fall River Stores scheduler for the year
  • Schedules locations to be counted per month for all warehouse and store locations
  • Emails the stores/warehouse supervisors of the schedule cycle count for the month so they can plan accordingly

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of warehouse experience
  • 2 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • General knowledge of inventory cost systems
  • Operatefork trucks e.g. Turret Stock Picker Drexel Sit-Down Auto Picker and Reach Truck
  • General understanding of all warehouse work areas and job functions (e.g. receiving shipping put away and picker)
  • General understanding of inventory transactions in a manufacturing environment and the effects of how those transactionsimpact the company on a financial basis
  • Analytical ability to investigate how inventory transactions are processed and determine whether the transactions were processed in the proper manner
  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in data analytics or related field

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office environment using computer and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports on-site for all scheduled shifts.
